8 Remove far from me vanity and lies:
give me neither poverty nor riches;
feed me with food convenient for me:
9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say,
Who is the Lord?
or lest I be poor, and steal,
and take the name of my God in vain.
It's wonderful being watchman.
My needs are simple, spare, and solemn.
My life is a life of service to GOD first.
His SPIRIT tells me how I can serve you best.
My best example is JESUS.
The LORD was everything, and He chose to be nothing.
He didn't want to be caught up in the things of the world.
Notice the exchange between the LORD and the tempter:
Matthew 4:1-4

into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days
and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

If thou be the Son of God,

It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone,
ut by every word that proceedeth
out of the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:5-7

and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down:
for it is written, He shall give his angels
charge concerning thee:
and in their hands they shall bear thee up,

7 Jesus said unto him,
It is written again,
Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Matthew 4:8-11

That's my Hero.
The LORD JESUS.
The One Who cannot be corrupted.
The One Who was totally loyal to the FATHER.
The One Who bore the cross, to die for our sins.
The One Who wants us to have eternal life with Him.
The One Who wants to have us meet Him up in the clouds.
The One Who wipes away all our tears, and calms our fears.
The One Who defeated death, and the devil, through the CROSS.
Hebrews 2:14

14 Forasmuch then as the children
are partakers of flesh and blood,
he also himself likewise took part of the same;
that through death he might destroy him
that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
He lived the simplest life of all.
Why, then, as follower, should I be any different?
JESUS is the pattern for all that is good, godly, and grace-filled.
Even as He said only GOD was good.
Matthew 19:17

17 And he said unto him,
Why callest thou me good?
there is none good but one, that is, God:
but if thou wilt enter into life,
keep the commandments.
Once GOD makes you born again, the trappings of this world cease to please you.
You will have seen through the illusion.
You will seek the sovereign.
You will thirst for the LIVING WATERS that is GOD.
You will hunger for the BREAD of LIFE that is JESUS.
You will focus on what pleases GOD:
Joshua 24:14-15

14 Now therefore fear the Lord,
and serve him in sincerity and in truth:
and put away the gods
which your fathers served
on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt;
and serve ye the Lord.
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord,
choose you this day whom ye will serve;
whether the gods which your fathers served
that were on the other side of the flood,
or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell:
but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Romans 12:2

but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,

Colossians 3:1-2

3 If ye then be risen with Christ,
seek those things which are above,
where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above,
not on things on the earth.
The true born again is light of heart, serene of soul, and high of spirit.
A watchman's focus is on the imminence of the Rapture.
You can't bring anything with you, when the Rapture happens.
Those who have repented, believed, called on the LORD, and have been predestined, will certainly meet JESUS up in the air.
What a joy that would be!
In these dark days, you will be tempted greatly.
Either to conform to the world.
Or to walk with JESUS.
You cannot have both.
You must choose.
Matthew 6:24

24 No man can serve two masters:
for either he will hate the one, and love the other;
or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.
Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Choosing is easy when you know GOD's TRUTH, LAWS, and WILL.
Pray to be born again -- it makes a whole world of difference.
Because that's the only time GOD's SPIRIT can start teaching you about JESUS, and Scripture.
Then all will be made clear, and you will not want to choose anything, or anyone else, but JESUS.
In JESUS is our joy, peace, life, light, and love.
