Matthew 19:14
King James Version
14 But Jesus said,
Suffer little children,
and forbid them not, to come unto me:
for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
At first, I thought GOD was punishing me.
I woke up at 2 a.m., my normal waking hour.
But it seems, this morning there was nothing in particular to write about.
Nevertheless, I got up to wait, for whatever the HOLY SPIRIT may want me to write, or study.
After all, I get ALL my instructions from Him.
Perhaps, we would view some "news", and take it from there.
Lo, and behold!
Soon as I turned on computer, there was NO wifi connection!
Was GOD teaching me a lesson?
Was He displeased at my initial laziness?
What else to do?
Read "A Promise to Nadia".
A book I bought from a thrift shop, with my last money, three days ago.
As I read, I kept checking if wifi connection had come back on.
Nope, so I ended up reading 24 pages of it.
As many would know, reading tiny letters soon as you wake up can be a chore.
But I needed to study something, considering I was already up and about.
And I did buy that book to study.
What is that book all about?
Two young girls were sold by their father to other father-friends who had a 13-year-old son, each.
These two girls were but 15 and 14 in 1980.
The older one escaped, after eight years.
The younger one remained, tied to her fate.
They both carried British-Yemeni citizenship.
Once back in England, the older sister, Zana, and her mom did all they could to get young Nadia out, but to no avail.
In the process, Zana wrote two books, which became bestsellers.
With the proceeds, she and her mom did all they could to seek the release of Nadia and her two kids.
By the time Nadia's fate was sealed, she thought she was 31 years old.
Zana said she was 32.
Light and life had gone out of Nadia's eyes, by now, with six children.
Such is the fate of child brides.
Misled by their father that they were going on a grand adventure to Yemen, they had no idea they were to be sold as child brides.
He wanted to "tame" the "wild" spirit in Nadia, for she was falsely accused of stealing in a market.
He decided to sell both girls to his men-friends, for their sons.
I bought that book because that was always close to my heart.
The fate of women, and children, who had no choice.
Who's to speak for them?
Are we aware of the suffering oppressed women and children go through?
Did any speak for the women and children slaughtered during the 7 October 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel?
Wasn't the world silent then?
Worse, they questioned the credibility of what Israel went through.
It was said that during prime minister Netanyahu's visit to president Trump, he showed a FULL video of the atrocities.
And yet the whole world casts doubt on what Israel went through.
Many years ago, before GOD made me born again in 2019, I also read a book on "child soldiers" in Nepal.
That they were abducted by rebels, and taught to fight.
Some were rescued; others weren't.
I've also seen a movie on "blood diamonds".
Wherein boys were trained to be child soldiers in Liberia.
We also know the plight of Mexican children sneaked into America's borders.
They suffer a terrible fate in trafficking.
Now, president Trump and his team have to trace 300,00 children left behind.
These are the forgotten people.
The women who were once child brides, with no freedom of their own.
The children kidnapped, and sold, for whatever their enslavers planned for them.
The women, and children, oppressed, abused, bullied, or killed anywhere, and everywhere, in the world.
The children left behind, because their mothers had to flee.
Families get separated in times of strife, like wars.
What's to happen to the children?
Can leaders really think of having wars, and not peace?
History also tells us of the men, women, and children of the Holocaust.
Another forgotten person is the grieving mother, helpless against tradition.
In being aided by a British journalist to flee, Zana had to leave behind her frail two-year-old son, Marcus, in Yemen in a bandit community.
Thinking she could get her son back, as well as Nadia and her children, she was sorely grieved that it wasn't so.
These are the forgotten people we must all look into.
How many voices are not heard?
How many plights are not witnessed?
How many powerless children are not rescued?
How many hopes are dashed to pieces?
How many have lost their lives?
How many leaders protect their own people, ESPECIALLY those who cannot care for themselves?
So, forgive me if I cannot stand the left, woke, and DEI ideologies.
Or of transgenders cheating girls at their sports.
Or wondering what to wear, when.
Or if I still look good, at my age.
Or defiant Democrats not helping their Republican president.
I have more important things to think about than seeing free, able-bodied people act selfish, deluded, and self-obsessed -- indifferent to the suffering of forgotten people.
I have these women, and children, to watch over, write about, and pray for -- that they may experience safety, and freedom, too.
I can only pray to our merciful GOD to please deliver ANY, and ALL, forgotten, and oppressed people, from the clutches of their captors.
In JESUS' Name, and by GOD's Will, it shall be so.
P.S.:
After reading 24 pages from the book, I closed my eyes to absorb it all.
After which, I said a prayer for all oppressed women, and children, in the world.
I thought to myself, ONLY GOD truly sees their plight.
And while wifi was not yet available, I can write a "draft".
Well, GOD put the wifi on, soon as I thought that.
