Genesis 2:9
King James Version
9 And out of the ground
made the Lord God to grow every tree
that is pleasant to the sight,
and good for food;
the tree of life also in the midst of the garden,
and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
It started two weeks ago.
All of a sudden, I felt like using my baby sister's olive oil shampoo.
I just wanted to be close to her again, for she's gone back to JESUS in 2021.
You know what they say about "aroma".
Its what triggers "memories".
And then two days ago, we wrote, "Your SLEEP sanctuary".
Again, that triggered something in me.
A desire for peace, not war.
A desire for something gentle, not the harshness of this world.
A desire for things natural, not contrived.
What could we write about it?
In the process, SPIRIT led me to research about the olive tree.
One man lamented how Israeli soldiers had destroyed their olive trees in the West Bank.
They called the Jews, "settlers".
Israel would rather call that contested place, Judea and Samaria.
Of course, I know what will end ALL wars.
When people believe,
and accept JESUS,
as MESSIAH.
But the Jews, their neighbors, and most of the world have not acknowledged the LORD yet.
Thus, the wars continue.
As JESUS said:
Matthew 23:39
King James Version
39 For I say unto you,
Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say,
Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Another video showed a family protecting their ancient olive tree, despite its proximity to the wall built by the Jews.
The children played in it.
For the tree was large, and had an enclosure within.
The father hoped his children would do the same.
Protect the tree for future generations.
All in the same day, on 21 May 2025, GOD made me think about "trees" from the Bible.
How quiet, and yet powerful they are.
How people take them for granted.
And yet, they have a strong presence.
Being witnesses to many events around them.
I knew it was time to turn to Scripture for their story.
The HOLY SPIRIT made me create, "Trees of the Bible".
Apparently, GOD wanted it written.
For the title of the blog was "free".
No one had laid claim to it.
It was free for the taking.
I was actually surprised.
SPIRIT and I have created 112 blogs previously.
We always have to experiment with many names, for many were already chosen.
But "Trees of the Bible" was just there for the taking.
How is it that such a simple name was free?
How is it that no one thought of using that name yet?
Perhaps, no one thought of trees.
At least, not in the way SPIRIT led me to think.
Trees have great significance, and symbolism, you know.
Especially those mentioned in the Bible.
That, alone, says how ancient they are.
And surely, "witness" to much.
In our excitement, we ended up writing seven articles in one day.
Last night alone, we wrote two, plus started this one you're reading now.
But we let it rest for the night.
We wanted our mind ever clearer for this introductory post.
True enough, we wrote differently this morning.
We always let a good night's sleep take care of that.
What is an article, except peppered with stories?
What is a tree, except rich with witnessing, and history?
It's these little stories which put dimension in everything.
But I'm basically a storyteller, and can tell you much.
Most about anything, really.
Through the mileage of my years, and experiences.
More so, being a born again watchman now.
We pray, watch, wait, write, and tell.
Deuteronomy 29:29
King James Version
29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God:
but those things which are revealed
belong unto us and to our children for ever,
that we may do all the words of this law.
An olive oil shampoo is an everyday object.
A "sleep" article could just be a clinical article.
But a blog on trees in the Bible is something else.
GOD made me born again, for this purpose.
He likes His story told.
He likes people to pay attention.
He likes people who pay attention to seeming inconsequential things.
He likes the fact I take notes all the time.
And I mean, actual notes.
Such notes serve my memory well.
For joy, retention, and everything.
But mostly, GOD likes that fact I write down stuff.
He knows I pay attention to EVERY detail.
It's those details that make up a story.
The best story is the real one.
Who speaks for the trees?
GOD does.
Who holds their truth?
Scripture does.
Who will tell you about them now?
I will.
What importance do trees have?
A lot.
Everything GOD made is alive.
Sure, trees can't speak.
But they're witness to many things.
That's what SPIRIT alerted me to.
I merely follow His lead all the time.
He knows I'll explore it Biblically.
And see where connections may exist.
At the very least, we discover something.
And what a lovely path it was!
I was right in my "suspicion".
Trees have so much to tell us.
They're living witnesses to all that has gone on around them.
As our 113th blog will reveal to you.
I've learned how sacred the olive tree is to Israel.
Apart from other trees mentioned, like the sycamore.
Let's not forget the CREATION of trees itself.
In building the "house of God", king Solomon used cedar.
Israel and Lebanon were once friends.
Through king Solomon and king Huram.
Cedars for the "house of God" came from Lebanon.
King Solomon supplied thousands of workers with provisions.
But can you imagine transporting timber from Lebanon to Israel?
It had to be transported by sea through Joppa.
And carried up to Jerusalem.
Those were the days when Lebanon looked to the GOD of Israel.
And honored their king.
That's why I'm telling you, trees have "stories" to tell.
Let those who can't speak, speak.

In due time, the list will grow.
For now, welcome our 113th blog.
To honor the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Exodus 3:6
King James Version
6 Moreover he said,
I am the God of thy father,
the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac,
and the God of Jacob.
And Moses hid his face;
for he was afraid to look upon God.
