VERSES on INTEGRITY

Proverbs 14:12

King James Version

12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,

but the end thereof are the ways of death.

If the world's lack of moral and spiritual uprightness freaks you out, your reaction is valid.

If the world's hatred of Jews alarms you, your feelings are sound.

If the world's obsession with ego, and vanity, concerns you, you're in the right.

These are but a few of the many things happening in the world that surely don't please GOD, and endanger all of us.

It's time to have INTEGRITY.

Merriam-Webster defines integrity beautifully:

: firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values : incorruptibility

: an unimpaired condition : soundness

: the quality or state of being complete or undivided : completeness

SPIRIT and Scripture have much to say on integrity.

That we may live right, in the eyes of GOD.

And that we may be worthy of the LORD.

Integrity from GOD:

Leviticus 11:44

King James Version

44 For I am the Lord your God:

ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves,

and ye shall be holy; for I am holy:

neither shall ye defile yourselves

with any manner of creeping thing

that creepeth upon the earth.

Leviticus 11:45

King James Version

45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up

out of the land of Egypt, to be your God:

ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

Leviticus 19:1-2

King James Version

19 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto all the congregation

of the children of Israel, and say unto them,

Ye shall be holy:

for I the Lord your God am holy.

Integrity from JESUS:

Matthew 5:48

King James Version

48 Be ye therefore perfect,

even as your Father

which is in heaven

is perfect.

Luke 16:10

King James Version

10 He that is faithful in that which is least

is faithful also in much:

and he that is unjust in the least

is unjust also in much.

John 3:16-17

King James Version

16 For God so loved the world,

that he gave his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,

but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world

to condemn the world;

but that the world through him

might be saved.

John 17:2

King James Version

2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh,

that he should give eternal life

to as many as thou hast given him.

John 17:3

King James Version

3 And this is life eternal,

that they might know thee the only true God,

and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

John 17:4

King James Version

4 I have glorified thee on the earth:

I have finished the work

which thou gavest me to do.

Integrity from king Solomon:

Proverbs 4:25-27

King James Version

25 Let thine eyes look right on,

and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

26 Ponder the path of thy feet,

and let all thy ways be established.

27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left:

remove thy foot from evil.

Proverbs 10:9

King James Version

9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely:

but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

Proverbs 11:1

King James Version

11 A false balance is abomination to the Lord:

but a just weight is his delight.

Proverbs 11:3

King James Version

3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them:

but the perverseness of transgressors

shall destroy them.

Proverbs 12:22

King James Version

22 Lying lips are abomination to the Lord:

but they that deal truly are his delight.

Proverbs 16:11

King James Version

11 A just weight and balance are the Lord's:

all the weights of the bag are his work.

Proverbs 19:1

King James Version

19 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity,

than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

Proverbs 20:7

King James Version

7 The just man walketh in his integrity:

his children are blessed after him.

Proverbs 21:3

King James Version

3 To do justice and judgment

is more acceptable to the Lord

than sacrifice.

Proverbs 24:1-2

King James Version

24 Be not thou envious against evil men,

neither desire to be with them.

2 For their heart studieth destruction,

and their lips talk of mischief.

Proverbs 28:6

King James Version

6 Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness,

than he that is perverse in his ways,

though he be rich.

Integrity from the apostles:

2 Corinthians 8:21

King James Version

21 Providing for honest things,

not only in the sight of the Lord,

but also in the sight of men.

Philippians 4:8

King James Version

8 Finally, brethren,

whatsoever things are true,

whatsoever things are honest,

whatsoever things are just,

whatsoever things are pure,

whatsoever things are lovely,

whatsoever things are of good report;

if there be any virtue,

and if there be any praise,

think on these things.

Colossians 3:23

King James Version

23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily,

as to the Lord, and not unto men;

James 1:17

King James Version

17 Every good gift

and every perfect gift

is from above,

and cometh down

from the Father of lights,

with whom is no variableness,

neither shadow of turning.

1 Peter 3:15-17

King James Version

15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts:

and be ready always to give an answer

to every man that asketh you a reason

of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

16 Having a good conscience; that,

whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers,

they may be ashamed that falsely accuse

your good conversation in Christ.

17 For it is better, if the will of God be so,

that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

1 John 4:7-9

King James Version

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God;

and every one that loveth is born of God,

and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God;

for God is love.

9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us,

because that God sent his only begotten Son

into the world, that we might live through him.

1 John 4:10-11

King James Version

10 Herein is love,

not that we loved God, but that he loved us,

and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us,

we ought also to love one another.

These are but a few verses on integrity.

The whole Bible speaks of it.

The born again lives by the Bible.

We live by GOD's law.

Scripture is our MORAL code.

Japanese warriors have their "Bushido".

Societies have "ethics" and "code of honor".

CHRIST's soldiers have the WORD of GOD.

Which one do you live by?
