1 Peter 1:3-4

and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

hath begotten us again unto a lively hope
by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible,
and undefiled,
and that fadeth not away,

He thought he had destroyed JESUS forever.
Thinking the LORD's death, and burial, would be it.
Satan had no idea the power of the Resurrection.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4

3 For I delivered unto you first of all
that which I also received,
how that Christ died for our sins
according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried,
and that he rose again the third day
according to the scriptures:
That became the GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST.
The day Satan fell, was the day he lost all privilege.
JESUS was witness to that "fall".
Luke 10:18

18 And he said unto them,
I beheld Satan as lightning
fall from heaven.
After that fall, how could he become "privy" to GOD's plans?
Why would GOD ever trust him again?
He had already incited rebellion.
Talking about ambition.
And disrespect.
Not to mention, betrayal.
As if GOD would allow such.
His "insurrection" was defeated by the "RESURRECTION".
Hebrews 2:14

14 Forasmuch then as the children
are partakers of flesh and blood,
he also himself likewise took part of the same;
that through death he might destroy him
that had the power of death,
that is, the devil;
Through the Resurrection, JESUS conquered the "last enemy":
1 Corinthians 15:26

26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed
is death.
JESUS not only conquered death.
He also conquered the perpetrator of death.
Can you imagine Satan's rage?
Feeling "tricked", and all.
Now, his destiny was certain.
Revelation 20:1-3

20 And I saw an angel come down from heaven,
having the key of the bottomless pit
and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon,
that old serpent,
which is the Devil, and Satan,
and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit,
and shut him up, and set a seal upon him,
that he should deceive the nations no more,
till the thousand years should be fulfilled:
and after that he must be loosed a little season.
Revelation 20:7-8

7 And when the thousand years are expired,
Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations
which are in the four quarters of the earth,
Gog, and Magog,
to gather them together to battle:
the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Revelation 20:10

10 And the devil that deceived them
was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone,
where the beast and the false prophet are,
and shall be tormented day and night
for ever and ever.
Just shows GOD's power over everything.
How can Satan fight the One Who Created him?
How can he have squandered his divine standing?
He was a beautiful cherub once.
Ezekiel 28:12-15

12 Son of man, take up a lamentation
upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him,
Thus saith the Lord God;
Thou sealest up the sum,
full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God;
every precious stone was thy covering,

the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper,
the sapphire, the emerald,
and the carbuncle, and gold:
the workmanship of thy tabrets
and of thy pipes was prepared in thee
in the day that thou wast created.
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth;

thou wast upon the holy mountain of God;
thou hast walked up and down
in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways
from the day that thou wast created,
till iniquity was found in thee.
Satan was totally deluded.
How can he destroy JESUS, Who was with GOD, right from the start?
John 17:5

5 And now, O Father,
glorify thou me with thine own self
with the glory which I had with thee
before the world was.
It had to take JESUS -- through the Resurrection -- to defeat the devil.
All according to GOD's will.
And plan.
Now, believers have the promise of the Resurrection:
Hosea 6:1-2
King James Version
6 Come, and let us return unto the Lord:
for he hath torn, and he will heal us;
he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
2 After two days will he revive us:
in the third day he will raise us up,
and we shall live in his sight.
As well as have ETERNAL LIFE, with JESUS.
John 3:16
King James Version
16 For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
Of course, Satan always wants to "pervert" everything.
